In addition the NHL may prevent its players from participating in the 2014 Olympics when the games are held in Russia. “Our experience in London was terrific,” Bettman told Reuters on Tuesday about the NHL’s season-opening games this year between the Los Angeles Kings and Anaheim Ducks. “There are rumors rampant that we might go to Prague or Stockholm next,” Bettman said at the Reuters Media Summit. “We’re looking at the options. …I could envision at a point in time in the future to maybe go to a dozen different cities over time. There are lots of hockey markets with tremendously avid fans throughout Europe.” But I disagree with Tom when he says this is “the last thing Gary Bettman wants to see.” My guess is that after two and a half years with a completely dysfunctional — and for all intents and purposes useless — players’ association the commish is just fine with the fact the very first order of business for Paul Kelly and Eric Lindros is wading into this old essentially unwinnable instigator tiff. The Wings were given a 5 out of 5 rating or basically a lock to make the playoffs. Why? The longevity of their success and despite being in the “best” division (the only one where each team has a winning record) the Wings are number one in the West. My second favorite team the New York Rangers (a distant second but second nonetheless) was given a 3 out of 5 saying that things may be looking good there are still some trouble spots up ahead. discusses the difference between the Wings and Rangers’ use of European players and that style of play. What this all has to do with the Rangers is this: we complain about the Jagr-ization of the power play decrying it as European hockey when it’s not exactly that simple. Yes the style played in Europe differs from that in North America but players can be molded and directed by effective coaches and management into playing the system that benefits the club. Detroit is an example of how European talent has been married to North American grit and determination to reap great success. It’s also proof that it’s possible … even in New York.

I don't see him as hall worthy. Look at this years inductees: Messier. Stevens. MacInnis and Francis. The first three are no comparison while Francis would be the only one I would analyse to Linden. Linden currently has 858 points while Francis finished his career with 1798 points. Granted some of the points were from the high-scoring 80's. Again. I accept that one doesn't need a cup victory to get in but Francis has three. I think Linden's honour will be to have number 16 hanging from the ratfers at GM displace when he retires. Hopefully it will be next to a Stanley Cup banner. true of course... they have had 1000 pt careers. 500 goal careers goal scoring titles major awards. "1 on 1 with Suspended Mattias Ohlund" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-12 17:24:18

MATTIAS OHLUNDQ. The Canucks are on the road this week but you've been at domiciliate serving your suspension for whacking Mikko Koivu. Are your kids wondering what Daddy has done?A. I evaluate Viktor and Hannah are just happy that Daddy is domiciliate. Viktor is eight now and he had some questions so you try to explain the best you can that you did something wrong and that you're not allowed to compete for a few days. You explain that some measure cram happens that doesn't happen in kids' soccer or whatever and that you have to pay the determine. Q. You moved to West Vancouver about a year ago and wondered about strategy for crossing the always tricky Lions furnish Bridge. Have you figured it out yet?A. You know what? I usually leave my kids at school in the morning and then I take my measure have a coffee and alter some calls to my friends approve home in Sweden. So when I do get to the bridge it's usually not too bad. There are the odd days when there is a lot of traffic but it hasn't been a big air. Q. Your place is nestled in the North Shore mountains near the foot of Cypress. Did you act there because it reminds you of Sweden?A. No. We moved there more for the lifestyle. Viktor snowboards and Hannah and my wife ski and they are at Cypress a lot. So that's one of the reasons. Another reason is we just like being outdoors. And if you like being outdoors obviously it's a nice spot. Q. Viktor has had some problems with his leg and underwent a number of surgeries. If he is snowboarding he must be doing come up. What else is he up to these days?A. He plays soccer and basketball -- I would say soccer is his favourite sport-- but he can't play hockey or ski because he can't get comfortable in the kick itself. Q. What's happening with your dog Eros? When you first got him you said he drove you crazy. Has he settled down?A. Yes he is truly a family member now. He turns three in January and I evaluate he has enjoyed the act a lot. Our backyard is up to Cypress and he spends a lot of measure out there. Q. Since you joined the Canucks in 1997-98 they have worn seven different jerseys -- navy and white orca alternate orca color and color vintage and now the new blue and whites 'Vancouver' ones. Do you undergo a room where you keep your memorabilia and all the different uniforms?A. I'm going to be honest. I don't. My kids have a lot of jerseys but I'm not big on saving stuff and I don't have a lot. I have a few things from world championships but it's all spread out. Some of it is at my dad's house and some of it is here. Maybe one day when I get older. I'll pay more attention to that stuff. Pretty good interview as we get to experience Mattias on a more personal aim and what his life is really like. This affix has been edited by Daniel Rahimi: Nov 23 2007. 12:34 PM MATTIAS OHLUNDQ. Viktor snowboards and Hannah and my wife ski and they are at Cypress a lot. So that's one of the reasons. Another reason is we just like being outdoors. And if you like being outdoors obviously it's a nice sight. Q. Viktor has had some problems with his leg and underwent a number of surgeries. If he is snowboarding he must be doing well. What else is he up to these days?A. He plays soccer and basketball -- I would say soccer is his favourite sport-- but he can't play hockey or ski because he can't get comfortable in the boot itself. Q. What's happening with your dog Eros? When you first got him you said he drove you crazy. Has he settled drink?A. Yes he is truly a family member now. He turns three in January and I evaluate he has enjoyed the move a lot. Our backyard is up to Cypress and he spends a lot of time out there. Q. Since you joined the Canucks in 1997-98 they have worn seven different jerseys -- navy and white orca alter orca color and color vintage and now the new blue and whites 'Vancouver' ones. Do you have a room where you keep your memorabilia and all the different uniforms?A. I'm going to be honest. I don't. My kids undergo a lot of jerseys but I'm not big on saving cram and I don't undergo a lot. I have a few things from world championships but it's all spread out. Some of it is at my dad's accommodate and some of it is here. Maybe one day when I get older. I'll pay more attention to that stuff. 5. "New Vancouver Canucks Jersey" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-30 15:55:11

For fun I was asked what I thought about the new Vancouver Canucks jersey that was unveiled the other day. It’s an NHL hockey team for those who don’t watch. Anyways here is what the new jersey looks like: Basically it looks desire a blend of the very old style mixed with the previous one as it is suppose to symbolize the beginning and where the team is today. Here are the three of them compared to each other: One immediate difference is how the word “Vancouver” is alter on the front of it which is kind of a nice domiciliate pride comprehend I suppose. Personally. I think the previous one looks a little more powerful and the new one is a bit more neutral I would say. So. I kind of have mixed feelings over it. I guess the furnish line is that if it helps to alter them win then everyone here ordain say it is a good change. Lot’s of populate are going to spend hundreds of dollars to buy this new style of branding for the aggroup that’s for sure. What we can tell you though is the following about the fifth incarnation of Canuck colours: I thought all the Canucks logos undergo been unremarkable. Mostly too complicated and work no specific “visualise” to recognize. What was that brown kinda rounded triangle thing anyway? Makes you acknowledge the simple genius of the classic Original 6 Logos... Canadien. Red go. Bruin and Black Hawk etc. Instantly recognizeable uncomplicated timeless. Posted by RWBill from Capitol of the Confederacy on 08/21 at 12:05 PM Here’s a question: What is the difference between classic and boring? Is it just a factor of how desire a logo or other symbol has been around and if it is old enough we become comfortable with its simplicity and call it classic while if it is new we don’t think it has enough “pop” or “go” or “speed” or “advance” or whatever? I love the classic logos too but I can’t back up thinking that if someone tried to indroduce the Toronto or Montreal logos today they would be shot drink by a focus assort or marketing tighten as boring within nanoseconds.
