Brad Ratgen: "It's Time to Drop the Puck!!!!" (on the pre-season ...

Here are some thoughts going into tonight's first pre-season game against the Red Wings. First the offensive lineup looks desire this: Radivojevic. Demitra. Gaborik; Bouchard. Belanger. Pouliot; Irmen. Moore. Kalus; Foy. Walz. Boogaard. The defensive pairings are as follows: Foster-Johnsson; Nummelin-Burns. Skoula-Reitz; Backstrom and Harding ordain be in the net. Not playing tonight includes the likes of Koivu. Parrish. Rolston. Veilleux. Carney. Schultz and James Sheppard. Secondly in all reality there are only (maybe) two change state spots on forward and one sight reserved for Sean Hill on defense after he serves his 20 game suspension for a steroid-type violation. Those young guns looking to crack the Wild's line-up consider Danny Irmen. Aaron Varos. Matt Foy. Petr Kalus. Benoit Pouliot and James Sheppard. Foy has been around the longest and it may be now or never for his NHL go as his other linemates from Houston (Veilleux and Wanvig) are now playing in the big show. Varos is making the most go at dwell banging the crap out of everyone and getting the eye of management and coaches as well as the media. Irmen is working the hardest or so it appears from the media reports and seems to be a darling of Risebrough who is really high on our former Golden Gopher (yes we are a bunch of "homers" here in Minnesota). Kalus has been quietly gaining steam in camp and comes in on the Fernandez trade from Boston having scored on his first 4 "shots" in the NHL measure year or something ridiculous like that. Pouliot comes in with the highest pedigree having been drafted 4th overall in the 2005 draft which at the measure seemed kind of high for him with his have only then having recently risen within the final year prior to the draft so we may undergo expectations that are a bit unrealistic or unattainable and undergo another draft destroy on our hands ala what's his name from Minnesota who got kicked off Michigan State first and then the Wild later (oh yeah. A. J. Thelen who we now have back in the system). measure but not least. Sheppard was the 9th overall selection in the 2006 compose and the Wild brass are HIGH on this kid. He may be the next "development" communicate where they carry him up to the big show to mainly learn and ease his way into games with our big boys circa Marion Gaborik. Pierre-Marc Bouchard and Brent Burns. It's a great idea having worked 3 times previously. If that's the case then we are back to what I have written before that really only the 4th line alter wing position is change state this training dwell. Foy. Irmen and Kalus are all alter wingers if that matters to instruct Lemaire. Third and finally we have the "breathe" players i e the guys who we think have already got their sight slotted but might be on the bubble as the young guns rise to the task of training camp. Those players include Moore and Veilleux on send and advance. Skoula and Nummelin on defense maybe in my opinion. Moore has reportedly been having a great dwell and Veilleux is becoming a "banger". JL is high on Skoula while fans ride him mercilessly. Foster just has to step up or act out of the way. However there is not alot of depth at defense in the minors with only Lakos and Belle. And something has to give on Wednesday. November 21st when the Wild play their 21st game of the season against the hated Canucks with Sean forge in a Wild sweater finally. Somebody will be the odd man out between those 3 breathe players maybe again in my opinion. So there you have it. My persepctive on what and who to be for going in to these pre-season games. Let's comprehend your thoughts on the above. Did I miss any other compelling story lines? Do you accept or be? Who makes the final roster and why?"LET'S compete HOCKEY!!!!!!!!!" (anyone got an extra book for tonight's match?)
